How she works
Four steps from “just five more minutes” to actually looking up.
One rule. She holds it.
Tell her when the phone goes down and what you’d rather be doing. She sets the cutoff and checks in at the exact time you usually spiral, with something better than the feed.
Same time, same black hole.
She clocks when you fall in: the 11pm bed-scroll, the post-lunch dip, the “I just unlocked it to check one thing.” She names the pattern and steps in before it eats an hour.
Something to do with the freed-up hour.
Putting the phone down only sticks if there’s a replacement. She lines one up: the walk, the book, the friend you keep meaning to call. The scroll loses to a plan.
The hours you got back.
Friday she sends the week: nights off the phone, hours not scrolled, the things you did instead. Proof the feed isn’t running you anymore.
